I came to clinical social work after spending years teaching 8th grade in Philadelphia. In my time there I learned that my ability to teach kids aged 12-16 how to write a compelling 5 paragraph essay was disappointing at best, but my instinct for supporting, and providing comfort and guidance to adolescents living in and with generational trauma was invaluable. I work from a humanistic, person-centered and trauma informed perspective, and specialize in working with the LGBTQ+ community, adolescents, and survivors of C-PTSD. I believe that therapy is a cooperative endeavor, but most of the work is done by you--I am a guide, a sometimes teacher of skills, and a witness. Most importantly, however, I am there with you, by your side, providing healthy, appropriate and caring support as you engage in the difficult and frequently painful work of self-discovery and growth.
